Freshman Football

Question
I am a high school teacher and have been coaching wrestling and track, I was approached by the Varsity Football Head coach about helping coach the freshman team. I played high school ball (Defense) and played some semi-pro ball (8 man) in the Army. But the thing is I have been away from the game for a long time, I am 49, what are some good books or videos that I can get to get me up to speed?

Answer
DON
I AM TRYING TO FIND SOME GOOD BASICS FOR YOU - I AM GOING THROUGH A PILE OF REFERENCES AND TRYING TO NARROW IT DOWN.  FIRST, CONGRATULATIONS ON BEING APPROACHED, THAT MEANS YOU HAVE NOTICEABLE TALENT AND SKILLS AS A COACH RECOGNIZED BY A PEER.  FRESHMAN FOOTBALL IS WHERE THE FUNDAMENTALS ARE TAUGHT AND MOLDED TO GIVE PLAYERS THE SKILLS THEY NEED TO MOVE TO VARSITY, COLLEGE AND ON FROM THERE.

DON'T WORRY ABOUT BEING AWAY FROM THE GAME SO LONG.  GIVE ME A COUPLE OF DAYS TO NARROW DOWN A LIST FOR YOU.  ALSO THERE ARE SOME GOOD WEBSITES THAT I USE, THAT  COACHES HAVE REFERRED ME TO AND I WILL GIVE YOU A LIST AND LINKS OF THE REFERENCES IN A COUPLE OF DAYS.
