legal catch

Question
If a receiver in the process of catching a football, extends him(her)self, and after making contact with the ground, has apparent control of the ball, but the nose of the football touches the ground........catch or no catch?

Answer
You noted "in the process of catching" & "has apparent control".....Then you have no catch......You must be in full control in order to have a catch.  The ball cannot cause a fumble after the catch, but the ground cannot assist you in making the catch either....Same rule apply in all levels of football.

Thanks, for your question.

If this has helped please leave a positive rating, if not then please contact me for more info.....Thanks, Andy
