Getting to the college level

Question
Hey thanks for your time.  I'm 14 years old and currently stand about 6 feet tall and weigh 180 lbs.  I played tight end and defensive end this past freshman football season and did quite well.  I have good hands and pretty good speed as well.  My goal is to play college football, but i don't know if my size will effect me from being looked at by colleges for the tight end position. Do you suggest i stay at the tight end position? Or try and make the transition to receiver?

Answer
Hi Jake, remember a lot depends on your offensive scheme. Bring this question to your coaches and see what they think.

Keep in mind that as a 14 year old you have plenty of time to grow into your frame.  A lot can still happen to your body.

Just keep working and let the chips fall where they may regarding college.  You have a few years to worry about that.  There  are plenty of schools that would be interested in your services when you graduate.
