QuestionHi I'm a sophomore quarterback. I am 6-3 and i weigh 160 lbs. I can only throw 52 yards and i want to increase my arm strength also my velocity. I also want to increase my 40 time from 4.9 to about 4.7 to be able to start on varsity. So can you tell me how i can possibly do all of this at home or at the gym
AnswerVery basic stuff here Raheel, but perfect the short throws first. Arm strength can be developed by doing one thing: throw the ball hard every time. Play catch with someone, or set up a targe on a wall (use a cheaper ball if you do this) and throw. Start at 10 yards, back to 15, 20, so on. Throw it the same way everytime. A lot of times kids throw and catch without a purpose. Make sure when you throw, you do it each time to get stronger.
The same with gaining speed. To get faster, you run. I suggest in both cases you talk with your coach and ask him what specific workouts he has in place for you. It can only make you better.
