QuestionAt practice today my coach was stressing that i tend to round my cuts on my back pedal when i break for the cone. I would like to keep my position at DB but im really having difficulty understanding. If you could tell me the proper way to break with my foot when i leave my back pedal please help me.
thank you
AnswerRob, when you "round off" your cuts, it means you are not going in a straight line to where you need to go. I teach my kids not to "step in the bucket." This means when they plant their back foot to drive forward, they stay on the ball of their foot, not letting the heel touch the ground. In one smooth motion, they transfer their weight forward and go to their target. I wish I had some film to send you on this.
