football dreams
Question
Thank you for taking the time to consider my question. My
life long dream has been to somehow work my way upto the
pro's. Now coach, I'm not going to lie to you. I'm only a
fifteen year old boy, but have great potential. Every time
I step out onto the field, I feel a special connection to
the sport. I'm particularly interested in playing WR. When
a ball is thrown my way, it's almost as if I can slow down
it's motion in my mind, and am not afraid to go and get it.
I have already started working on my dream by spending 4 to
5 hours a week doing strength training. I played for a flag
football team in 5th grade, and the quaterback (senior in
highschool) urged me to try out for the highschool team
(when i got there) and ever since I've felt something
special. My question to you is : What can I do now in terms
of training/nutrition to make my dream more likely.
Thank you.
Answer
Great to hear you're that excited about football. First I think you should talk to your high school coach. If he has a specific training schedule the team is doing, then you should do it. At your age, the easiest thing to do is to eat fast food, drink pop, etc. I suggest cutting that stuff out. Other than that, just work hard and when the season starts give 100%. Coach B.
