Football coach
Question
My name is Alex Pena, I am 19 and I have always loved the game of football. I am currently the head coach of a 3rd and 4th grade team in my local area. I had a pretty good season and everyone is excited to have such a young man who is as devoted as myself to teach their boys the game. I currently attend a JC with no football program if so i would be doing anything to help them out. my dream is to become a head coach at either the high school or college level. My major is Physical Education. With all this info am I on the right path to obtain my goal?
Answer
yes alex, it sounds like your on the right path, but remember, it doesnt matter what kind of degree you have, or what kind of experice, if you dont have good coaching skills. these are hard to come by for a lot of coaches. thankfully, ive been surrounded by some great coaches. it doesnt matter what sport, they all teach the same thing. find a coach that has a proven record, ( good season, wins alot of games, that kinda thing) or one that everyone knows and has alot of good things to say. It also depends on what kind of team your coaching. if your coaching a houseleague team that just wants to play for fun, or a city team that plays to win, your going to use different coaching methods.
