Dark blue and gold wit
Hi, There I am a 21 yr old Sophomore at Norfolk state University. I am truly interested in playing football again, I played high school ball and was pretty Descent at it i started 1 yr for J.V and 2 yrs for Varsity. in high school i was an speedy inside and outside line backer and also i played strong safety at 5'10" and 195.... 2 yrs later i am now 5'11 and a 1/2 and now weighting 220. at the district combine i bent pressed 225 16 times as a senior and ran a 4.6 in the dash. I am a realist, so therefore i know these skills i once possessed have diminished.I started going back to the gym and i am seeing results quickly i am seeing those cut i once had in high school return, but my question for you is how do i really get back in shape and get those skills that i once had back?
AnswerHello,
Well, the simple answer to this question is hard work. The difficult answer to this question is hard work can't create the physical demand of football. Meaning it will not create the contact that comes with football. For any one who has been away from football and then comes back, will tell you, that is the hardest part. You are still young so the skills really haven't diminished, the just need to be polished. You should get in as much cardio and weightlifting as possible. You also need some field work; cone drills, field drills, hill sprints, up downs, shuffle drills, back pedaling and anything else you have knowledge of.
