Answer
Dear John,
I have good news and I have bad news for you. The good news is that bench pressing 350 pounds and being able to squat 550 can help you become a power fullback. The bad news is that not playing football in high school is going to make things a lot harder for you. The other football players have had four years to develop their skills and improve their technique and you have not. However, I do not want you to give up, you will just have to work a little harder to catchup.
If I were you I would do the following;
1. I would talk to the coaching staff, of the school you plan to attend, as soon as possible. You need to get their advice on your situation. Do not let then discourage you it is going to be tough but if you really want it you can do it.
2. If I were you I would buy this book, "Play Football the NFL way" by Tom Bass it has all the technique you will ever need to learn the position of fullback. And if you change your mind about playing fullback, it has all the other position as well. The book cost about $20.00 and you can buy just about anywhere.
(encase you are wondering, I am not trying to sell you a book. And I do not make any money off this book.) I am just telling you what I would do in your situation.
3. I would also start working on my conditioning as soon as possible. I am sending you a web link from our football library that will help you get started.

Get back to me after you talk to your new coach and let me know what he had to say. And if you want anymore of my help I would be glad to help you.
Your friend, Louis
PS I do not know what the N.C.A.A rules are for someone who did not play high school football. However, just to be on the safe side, you better contact the school administration of the college you plan to attend first, before you contact the college football coach. You do not want to break any rules. Good luck!
