QUESTION: Thanks, it did help. I am just wondering if you could give me some advice on how to hold the ball. I can't quite find a comfortable way yet.

ANSWER: Dear Kyle,
The problem might be the size of the football. Your hands might be too small for the football you are using. You have to try a smaller ball. Give that a try and let me know what you think.

QUESTION: I see where you are coming from and it works. However, I play in high school and we have to use a certain size ball. Do you know what the proper grip technique is? I was never taught the correct way. I was kind of thrown into it.

Answer
Dear Kyle,
I am not sure if you are telling me that your hands are too small or what? However, I will describe the proper hand placement for snapping the football.

You want to place your right hand just above the middle of the football. Make sure your fingers are spread and the laces are turned so that the lower part of your hand comes in contact with them. Place your left hand on the other side of the football, also, with the fingers spread. Make sure that both your hands are placed far enough towards the upper part of the football so that you have control, comfort, and a solid grip on the ball.

However, you do not want to place your hands so far up that the football is slipping out of your hands. Your right hand is the power hand while the left hand is used to direct the football's path. The quarterback will give you a foot signal when he is ready to receiver the football.

I hope this helps you out. However, if you are still having trouble get back to me and I will see what else I can do to help.
Your friend, Louis
