Nubby football cleats
Question
Are nubby football "shoes" illegal? We just bought them from Nike and I was wondering if there was a rule about the footwear you chose. A nubby shoe isn't like a spike in a cleat, its like a 1/8 inch rubber spike that covers the entire cleat. I am in high school currently if rules vary between levels of the game.

I am not familiar with the exact shoe you are asking about but based on your description the shoe sounds as though it is legal.
The Rule about cleats is contained in National Federation Football Rule 1-5-1-f.
The term nubby shoes/cleats must conform to the rule that the stud is not longer than a 1/2 inch made of rubber or rubber type synthetic and does not have a cutting or sharpen edge. The rules regarding equipment and cleats do vary slightly among the different rule books [i.e. High School, NCAA, NFL]
