Face Gaurding a Punt Receiver
Question
IS it face guarding on K if R is receiving a punt and the K player is waving there hands in front of R's face? Would this be face guarding / kick catch interference or is it legal
Answer
Hi Darran,
I dont know if you want the Professional/College of High School version- so I will offer the Pro version. Also, your question is a bit vague, because you are not asking as to whether it is on a fair catch signal-or a normal punt coverage. Below is the Professional rules violation verbaige.
"No opponent may interfere with the fair catcher, the ball, or his path to the ball. Penalty: 15 yards from spot of foul and fair catch is awarded."
Darran- as you may know, there exists the rule of giving the receiving player ample space to allow them to receive the ball, so hopefully this answers your question.
