If you're already a good tackler, how many interceptions do you need if you want to play strong safety at a d1 school

Hello Blake,

I don't believe there is really a number of interceptions you should have, that will qualify you for a D1 school. One young man that I personally trained, only had 2 interceptions his senior year. Well, he is a starting D1 safety right now. It really comes down to how well you play the position. That doesn't always result in interceptions. Honestly, in most defenses, a strong safety, plays the role of a linebacker. He plays a BIG role in helping stop a run oriented offense.

So, just play the position as well as have been taught. And I think you will do fine.
