Answer
Hello Corey,
Yes, I agree, you can always get better. Although you are eating a lot that doesn't always mean weight gain or mass. Meals with potatoes and bread, usually help in that area. I also suggest cutting your workouts down to 3 or 4 times a week. This time allows for your body to rebuild itself after you have broke it down.
Push ups and sit ups every morning and every night helped me to build mass. A lot of athletes also have gotten into the protein shakes to help build mass. I can not recommend them, because that is not my expertise. Weight lifting for mass and not for tone, which means heavier weight.
You want to build leg strength and speed. I suggest you find a hill in your area and run sprints up the hill. You can even run what I call "position" sprints, when running up the hill. If the hill is 50 yards, start from the bottom in a line backers "position" stance. Every 10 yards stop, then start again from a line backers "position" stance. This should increase strength, speed and quickness.
These are suggestions that have worked for others. Hopefully, they will work for you in your quest.
