a bowling ball life
Question
How long does a bowling ball last in terms of time, no one i ask can tell me....
I just got the mission from ebonite and it has a chip in it after only bowling a full week with it....
Answer
John,
Don't sweat a chip. The usable lifespan for a ball is as long as it performs the needed task effectively. Bowling balls are tools. I have a rubber spare ball that I use almost exclusively for tournaments and it is easily 60 years old (I got it used!). But it still does what I need (which is almost nothing - straight ball).
The issue of a dieing bowling ball is often an issue of no (or little) maintenance, try to protect the cover from being beat'n up and soaking up oil. A coverstock which can't grip the lane because it's full of oil might be a disaster for one player but a godsend for another.
So use your Mission as long as it works for you, keeping in mind, cleaning it thoroughly after every session will help it last. Refreshing the surface periodically and/or soaking out the lane conditioner will keep it working optimally. Thanks for the question.
Mention to your center that the ball got chipped, they should want to know what lane caused the problem to keep it from happening again to you or other customers.
