ball question
Question
QUESTION: For typical house shot league is it a bad investment to get a more advanced ball such as the invasion or mutant cell, because a nomad or riot would do just as well on house shot? Eventually i do want to play in a sport league and tournaments, and am receiving coaching from a silver level coach.
My equipment sort of needs updating. It's not that old but I have a copperhead, swarm and freeze, and have had them all plugged and re-drilled recently. They all have hundreds of games on them and re-finishes. I want to better my equipment.
What would you recommend, stick to mid range symmetrical balls or go forward with more advanced asymmetrical balls? Im looking at getting two balls, a benchmark as my Swarm just isnt doing it for me anymore and i rarely use it, and something more aggressive than my copperhead.
thanks
oh, i am a high speed(20mph), medium rev, tweener.
ANSWER: I would stick with the mid range balls. There are plenty of choice and coverstocks that can give you a very All ball companies have good mid range balls. I think Hammer and Storm have the best choices at this time.
Once you get to the point you are ready to go to the sport patterns, I would suggest a Storm Natural and the Mutant Cell to fill in your arsenal. The Brunswick C system balls and the Ebonite Mission have looked good too.
Good Luck,

QUESTION: Its so funny you mention that. Those two balls are exactly what i was thinking originally for sport patterns. I love the natural. Hope its still available later on. Or a new one comes out. I started considering the Invasion as well because I love its reaction.
My Coach mentioned perhaps getting the Reign of Fire for the more aggressive mid range. What do you think of that ball?
Answer
The Reign of Fire would be a good choice. I only have 4 balls in my arsenal right now. They are: Invasion, Reign of Fire, Natural, and a Fast. I am plugging the thumb on my Furious, so I will add that one when done for a total of five. I can handle a wide range of conditions with those in my bag.
Good luck,
Chip
