ball layout and PIN buffer
Question
I will have a Virtual Energy drill this week and would like an aggressive layout that will make an aggresive move Snap)to the pocket off the dry. I am told my PAP is 4 1/2 and 1/4 up and my tilt is 14 degrees my ball speed is usually 13.5 to 14mph at the front arrows (slow). I want to use this ball on medium oil to heavy oil and I normally play the 12th to 10th board down and in.
Answer
Storm has a layout form in the box that your ball driller should be able to use to get the reaction you are looking for. I would suggest to use a weaker layout than what is suggested, and by that, I would move the pin and key further from your PAP than what the paperwork will suggest. Your slower ball speed and lack of axis tilt will make the ball read the lane sooner so you do not need the layout to make that happen even quicker. I would look at placing the pin at least 5 inches from your PAP and the Key just to the right or below the thumb.
Good luck,
