QuestionLast night during our summer league, an opposing right handed bowler was throwing left-handed to get his 10 pin spares. Is this legal? I say no, my husband its ok. Who is right?

Jane, you were right! It is illegal to use the opposite hand when bowling. There are circumstances as far as an injury goes, that will allow you to participate doing so, however that is very rare. Once the game begins, if you are a right handed bowler you must deliver the rest of your shots with the right hand.
Now this also means, you can deliver the ball two handed from your right side, along with throwing a back up ball also from left to right at the 10 pin, but it must be done with your right hand if you started the game that way. In summary: Jane, it is not standard practice to deliver the ball with one hand, and then deliver the ball with the opposite hand at anytime during play. Thank you for your question Jane. I do hope you bet on this one! If so, let us know what the bet was!!! :-)
