QuestionQUESTION: I have a virtual gravity and a pure swing as well as a pearl tremor, I was wondering which pads I may need, and if there is a chart that shows what each pad will accomplish on the ball, and most importantly is it ok to use the pads by hand.
Thanks
ANSWER: Keith,
Doing anything to your bowling equipment by hand, could lead to a very inconsistent finish to the cover.
What are you asking? What pads are used on the balls? Pads, compound and polishes are used (usually with multi-speed ball spinners).
People having success with their equipment usually aren't looking to change things. What's going on that you want to change them? Thanks for the question.

QUESTION: I dont want to change anything I just want to maintain the coverstock, when I need to clean the ball, to get all of the oil out of it in order to maintain a consistent reaction time and again
Answer
Ball Maintenance
Keith,
I've attached a Storm ball maintenance schedule.
Check with the Ebonite website or Columbia for suggestions. The easiest way to keep oil out of a ball is to wipe the ball off often to keep the oil off, not allowing it to be absorbed.
Use a cleaner appropriate to each cover from the manufacturer to maintain the surface after every bowling session. The dull surfaces could use a freshening periodically, check out the Storm schedule for suggestions.
Thanks for the questions.
