ball out
Question
do you have any suggestions tricks or whatever that will work in trying to get the ball out on the line. i am trying to project to the lane markers that we have on our lanes 40' down to hit the breakpoints?
Answer
LD, projecting the ball out to the 40 foot marks is a combination of lane oil conditioner, speed or tempo to the line, release, ball cover/surface, how heavy the ball is, revolutions, and ball flare or tracks. When considering adjustments or tricks to increase ball travel, keep in mind things that are going well with you ball delivery and the things that are failing you.
If you project the ball well and consistently. Your problem most likely is the ball or ball cover is too aggressive.
Since I wrote the book on making adjustments, there are literally dozens of things you can try from my new book, True Bowler Adjustments. Most bowlers will try polishing their bowling ball. If buying my book is not an option at this time, you can also try using a little loft to avoid the ball burning up on the front of the lanes.
