Ball breaking too early - lack of ball speed

Question
I'm was 200 average bowler using a Black Widow Venom in the
UK. recently the house pattern has changed and is much
shorter than it used to be and with less oil. The crankers
love it and 300s are scored seemingly at will, but as a
stroker with a low ball speed (13.5mph) and quite high revs
I simply cannot get the ball far enough down the lane to
stop it from breaking too early. When I try to increase ball
speed I become terribly inconsistent with both release and
aim. It seems that either I have to learn to increase ball
speed (something that I tried and failed to do for years) or
switch to a less aggressive ball. What do you think of the
newer Urethane balls on the market, might one of these be
the answer or should I look at lowering ball weight from 15
to 14 to try and get more speed/length?

Answer
I would rather go with one of the urethane balls on the market than try to gain ball speed by dropping your ball weight.  I think  you would lose control as you would be trying to increase your ball speed with muscle.  More muscle is never a good thing.
I would suggest the new Storm Natural Pearl.  I have loved the re-introduction of urethane.  It works great on some of the normal house shots now and some of the shorter international or sport patterns.

Good luck,
Chip
