QuestionHow can you tell how fast your ball is traveling down the lane. I bowl in a small town with 16 lanes and not to well kept up.
Every week the lanes are a bit different. I roll a Storm Prodigy.
Sometimes I have to crank in more rotation to get to the pocket.

Hi Richard, calculating speed can be done using the following website if you wish:
http://www.csgnetwork.com/bowlingballcalc.html?numsecs=2.5&M=18.288&distance=60....
Most people fall into three categories. Slow, Medium and Fast speed bowlers. Using this item to calculate your speed is cool but you just need to have the basic knowledge that you generally are one of the three speeds. I am a pretty straight bowler so I often hit the pins in about 2.5 to 3 seconds from release. I have actually been averaged between 14 to 15 mph on those speed guns. So this is pretty accurate. Again, as and example...I am not slow, and I am not fast, I am a medium speed bowler who moves between 13 to 16 miles per hour.
Below 13 is slow, above 16 is dayum fast for sure. :-) How do they do that??? Take care Richard and I hope this helps. In closing, there are a lot of "match up" sites available on the web now for bowlers to pair up with the bowling balls for there speed and their conditions. Storm for sure has one.
