QuestionI'm a 61 year old woman with a 190 average. I throw a down-and-in, 14 pound ball. I'm leaving a LOT of 7-pins. How can I correct this?

Hi Lois, I wrote a new bowling book called "True Bowler Adjustments." It's very good for giving bowlers options of what to do when leaving certain pins on the deck. Especially, 7 pins and 10 pins. Because there are so many scenarios of what could be wrong, it is hard to pin point what is going on with your ball, you, or the lanes, when you are leaving 7 pins.
Lois the first thing that came to mind was that you are left handed most likely. Like right handed bowlers, we would like to know how to kick out the 10 pin. There are roughly "two pages" in my book devoted to combating the 7 pin or the 10 pin.
Since I am not sure if you are left handed or right handed I can't give you an answer. However, I will urge you to read this post and contact me later if you need to: "Lane Reading / Calvin." It is posted under my answers to bowling questions. Since you are an accomplished bowler, you need information you can read that corresponds to your level of play, which is really outstanding!!! I am impressed.
In summary Lois, you are an excellent bowler. However, since I do not know if you are left or right handed I can not speculate as to what you may need to do. Also, I hope after you read the post I sent to Calvin, you will realize that the information I give you in this public forum can be a double edged sword. If, I could tell you how to kick out the 7 pin, then others in our sport "may" have more fun, ....or conversely it may allow others to take advantage of bowlers in our sport.
With such a high average you deserve the opportunity to advance. I urge to you take that opportunity by finding a coach, "buying my book," or seeking someone who can truly explain the relative aspects involved in just kicking out that "one" stinking pin that just seems to bug the hell out of us. Especially, when we are having what otherwise would be a perfect game! :-)
Hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day!
