changing balls ?

Question
Hi Gary,
Presently throw virtual gravity (14lbs)Avg 210 across 3 leagues. The ball is about a yr. old and starting to leave to many 10 pins. I'm a stroker not a cranker usually about 15-16 mph. Had it resurfaced, not much different. Thinking about the virtual gravity nano. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated on the proper equipment.

Hi Joel, I loved my Virtual Gravity as did many other lower rev bowlers when it came out in 2008. Since then I have had my surface reconditioned periodically to maintain that hook or look I like to see when the ball makes the turn to the pocket. The VGNano would be and awesome addition to your arsenal. Basically put, when your VGravity stops carrying your Nano may pick up the slack. The one thing I found through my research is that based on the conditions and your release, some bowlers may be experiencing a great deal of carry down that may require a ball change. So, in today's game you may not be far off the mark when you site your subject as being "changing balls?" Getting a ball that will move sooner to arc just a bit more than the ball you were previously using is priceless.
If I had my rathers, I would recommend two changes to your arsenal if you could afford it. The Anarchy "first" and then the VGNano if you can do that Joel.
In summary Joel, there are many reasons why we leave the 10 pin. Regardless, you have to get the ball to move even farther left as it approaches the headpin so the hit will carry. Most bowlers will change to something that arcs sooner, or they will try to use a straighter release or approach, or move to an outside line that "may be" drier.
In my new bowling book, "True Bowler Adjustments," I list dozens and dozens of other options that may fit your game when you need to kick out that stubborn 10 pin. Especially interesting is how to train your eyes to read the ball reaction. The following link can be used to check out the VG/VGNano/Anarchy etc...all on the storm website: http://www.stormbowling.com/products/balls/virtualgravitynano
Thanks for your question Joel. Updating your equipment is always a good thing with today's modern game. Know that your first priority is always to get the right ball for the condition you bowl on. If your center is using a higher volume of oil, or a longer pattern. This could cause your VG not to recover as much as you would like. Take care.
