balls for my rev

Question
1.-Storm, I use this ball for spare with a medium hook, I release it with my thumb pointing at 10 o`clock, the ball goes long.
2.- The lane breaker has the stronger reaction on the backend, I release it on fresh pattern looking the breakpoint between 5-10 board, that depends of the conditioning.
3.- The Track 920T is a new ball, I released it few times, I dont dominate it. no yet, I need to practice more with it, but my impression is that the ball is longer but with as stronger as the lane breaker, I think  that I need to release it like my lane breaker when the oil is breaking down
I play on synthetic lane, and my ball are shiny because I dont know a lot how to choice the right ball for me, if you recomend me the change the damage for other ball, I can do it, I am writting from Venezuela,  so excuse me if my english written is no good

Answer
Carlos,
I understand you just fine. I love the sport of bowling, so helping a bowler, wherever they are in the world is why I volunteer to answer these questions (there is a lot of misinformation shared by bowlers/untrained ball drillers/bowling center employees/etc). I want to use my experience to help clear up some of the misinformation.

Bowling balls are tools to help you control the bowling lane. Bigger hooking balls with rough surfaces help when lanes are oily or you throw hard or when you have a tough time getting the ball to hook enough. Lesser balls allow for different reactions on various conditions.

Your ball choice, should be picking a tool to help play where you prefer, rolling the ball the most relaxed and as natural as possible. Many players keep buying balls in hopes one will be great. You can't choose then drill a ball then roll it to see what happens. You should have a good idea of what you want, what you need, then your ball driller should be able to help with ball choices that can provide the kind of reaction you desire.

I get a sense that you might benefit from some coaching. The more you know about your game the easier it is to determine what you need and/or what might work best.

My impression of your equipment: Your Storm is a mild combination of cover and core with a layout that gets the ball to roll late on the lane (the coverstock doesn't handle more oil well). The Ebonite Lane Breaker is drilled straight up on the label which provides a long and very strong backend reaction (probably too strong on a THS). The Track 920T is a strong core in a cover that is too shiny for your speed, the lane or where you prefer to play on the lane.

You use the outside of the lane, which on an easy Typical House Shot (THS) should be dry and should help your ball slow down and hook. It sounds like the Storm hooks to little, the Ebonite is too violent, and the Track is unpredictable. Which ball rolls closest to what you'd want? And describe what happens and what you'd like to happen? Thanks again for following up.
