QuestionIs their a drill pattern that will help me keep my ball of the thumb hole; or what am I doing to cause the ball to Occasionally roll over the thumb hole?

Greetings John, Most of the time it is the release technique you are using. You may be releasing the ball in a high forward roll, or a early 10 o'clock, 4 o'clock release. Also, you could have a pitch in your thumb hole that is more to the left than is needed. Occasionally a bowler will have a layout that makes the ball roll over the thumb hole. Most thumb holes are at zero pitch. If you are at zero, then pitching the thumb hole to the right may be a solution.
In either case, you would need someone to watch your release first. Hiring a coach, or getting one of the pro shop staff to check out your ball fit, and layout would be a great start. You truly can't go wrong with either. High Scores!
