bowling ball drilling options
Question
I recently bought a bowling ball which was a second. The CG is 3 inches to the left of the line from the pin to the MB. I'm looking to drill the ball for a strong backend. Can I drill the ball with the normal drilling layouts or will I need to compensate for the CG in this position.
Answer
Lewis,
If you are right handed, having the CG closer to your grip will probably eliminate the need for a weight hole. If you are left handed, the cg will probably demand that you have a bigger weight hole in a less advantageous position.
When looking for a ball for a stronger layout, I look for a longer pin to CG. With the CG position not as crucial. What are you intending to do? Where will you put the pin? CG? Mass bias? Weight hole? What is your Positive Axis Point (PAP)?
Thanks for the question. I'd be interested what you do and how it works out. Good luck with it.
