QuestionI have been working on getting my daughter to throw a regular style or possibly a right to left hook. She has been "bull-headed" on throwing a back-up ball, this summer we tried throwing it correctly, but her wrist kept throwing backup, even when she just stood at the line and swung her arm. She has been throwing back up for at least 6 years, and at age 14 she averages about 145. Are there any tips you have to correct this?

Hi Randy, this is a post I previous wrote about correcting the back-up ball. It may help you. http://en.allexperts.com/q/Bowling-1812/2010/3/ball-16.htm
Please understand, it is hard to teach anyone you care about. Sometimes they don't and won't understand constructive criticism. So whatever comes out of your mouth, no matter how helpful or innocent it may sound to you, it can be like a cold knife in the back to them.
Often unless you are a certified coach with many years of experience at training someone to deliver a great release, all others serve to do is set the bowler back more and more. I often say bowling is a "control" mechanical effort at first. Later the bowler learns to relax certain muscles while enhancing the newly trained muscles.
I hope you enjoy the article. I pray it helps bridge a life long love of the sport between you and your daughter. Remember a coach is best. "ALWAYS!" :-)
Take care Randy, and whatever you do, don't let her see this particular article, or you are toast! :-)
