lane conditions
Question
I bowl on Tuesday nights. The lanes are oily. I have a Nano and a Virtual Gravity. I use 2000 Abralon for more hook. I stand on board 15 and my target is around the 8-9 boards. Between the first and 2nd arrow. I leave a 10 pin. How can I get my ball in the pocket? I use a Nano for strikes and a Virtual Gravity for spares. I have a Storm Gadget. I have it on 10-20 so I can get underneath the ball.
Answer
Chris,
Is the 10 pin a weak leave or a solid leave? Is the 6 pin whipping around the 10 pin or is it floundering weakly in the flat gutter (channel) next to the 10 pin?
It sounds like you could use a slight improvement in angle of entry.
If the shot is weak, try moving right a board or two and move your target out also. Or back up on the approach about six inches (or more) using your first choice as setup and path to the pocket (gives the ball a chance to hook a little more).
If the shot is too strong (solid 10 pin) move left a board or two, moving the target left a board also. Or move forward on the approach, which puts the ball out onto the lane a little further, shortening the overall amount of time and lane used causing the ball to hook a little less.
Thanks for the question. Good luck and good bowling.
