Questionmy bowling center is going to need new lanes soon. they are currently wood and have only 1 resurface left before needing replaced. replacing all new wood would be pretty expensive so i was looking into going with the 20-24ft synthetic with wood backends. I haven't however gotten good reviews about this. i keep getting told the film they put on top of the synthetic goes bad. is this true and if so is there any way to prevent it?
AnswerTyler,
You have options: listen to people who are looking to sell you something, talk to fellow proprietors that have been in the same boat, seek a consultant (who derives no financial benefit from your decision, I feel the best and most unbiased opinion) to help with the decision.
I am the consultant.
I am sorry but this forum isn't for FREE advise for commercial entities. Just a clarification though, the film you're talking about is applied over the wood not on synthetics. I have to assume you are not talking about applying synthetic panels on top of the heads only of wood lane beds, but the thin overlayment (made by a couple different manufacturers) to protect your beat up heads. Drop me a note to my e-mail (

Thanks for the question.
