cracked bowling ball between the middle and ring finger
Question
While bowling today, my bowling ball cracked between the middle and ring finger. If I get this repaired, will this effect my game and will this cause my ball to become weak and or be defective? I have been bowling for 26 years and have never seen this happen. Is this common?
Answer
Lynda,
Sometimes the distance between the holes or the angles of the holes can contribute to cracking. If your driller abided by the standards of the industry/manufacturers, you have nothing to worry about. But, the stresses on a sphere with holes in it, sometimes causes pressures which result in cracking. Typical warrantee coverage is a year. How old is the ball? Do you use finger grips?
If you're liking what the ball does, the repair will not effect the ball or its dynamics. The crack between the fingers isn't common but it happens, since the standards I mentioned have been in place. Also, most stores would repair the crack for free.
Thanks for your question. Good luck and good bowling.
