Value of an undrilled AMF Dynamite ball from the 70s or 80s
Question
Hi,
I have an un drilled never used AMF Dynamite black bowling ball serial number 5M4A251. It is a 15 lb ball and the AMF and word Dynamite look as if hand done.
We brought to the local ally and the gentleman there said not to drill it as it is vintage and has value. He did not say how much but wanted to buy it. I don't have a clue what it's worth, any idea or help would be great.

Answer
Richard,
Your bowling ball will fetch what someone might feel it's worth. Big advantage that it's undrilled, but older rubber bowling balls (not made anymore) may have sentimental value but there is no intrinsic value as it's very basic construction and smooth hard rubber cover. There might be value in it's rarity or uniqueness. I've reached out to a contact at the Bowling Museum to help.
Value in older bowling equipment usually resides in rarity and performance potential. Back in the day, your ball was essentially identical to the other Brunswick, Manhattan Rubber, Ebonite, etc. balls on the market.
Thanks for the question. I'll reach out when I hear something. How can I reach you?
slingshot ball, skid, breaks slow, thumb hole to large, plugged and redrilled, drilled hole into core
