Youth bowler moving to adult league
Question
My 18 year old has quit Youth league and is joining adult league this fall. The adult league rule says "if no average in this league, use last year's book average". Does that apply if last year's average was the average set in the Youth League, OR will he be "setting" an average as a first time adult league bowler ?? Thanks.
Answer
Jerry,
Each league controls its rules. Some can change or supplant suggested national USBC rules. You'd be best served contacting the officers of the league (the bowling center should be able to provide phone numbers), to ask what their rules require. Your son can provide a final average sheet from his last league to help him get over the hump at the league's first night of competition.
Ultimately, your son will be subject to however the league deals with players like himself. Hope this helps. Thanks for the question.
