Junior League Pitching Rules
Question
I am 14 years old and have just finished playing our regular season. I want to
play again next year when I will be 15 and in my freshmen year in high-
school. For some reason I can't start playing until all my high-school games
are done. Why is that?
I have heard that 15 year olds can't pitch in the Juniors and I have no idea
why that is?
Answer
While this varies from state to state a little bit, most states have rules that do not allow athletes competing in interscholastic sports to play the same sport in outside leagues at the same time. These rules are mostly put in place to monitor the activity of pitchers thus insuring that they do not throw more innings than are allowable in a given time frame. As for your second question, I'm not entirely familiar with the rules of Junior leagues. I would check their website for information or contact the president of your local league. You should be able to find the answer in one of those 2 places. I hope this answers your question.
