Keeping positive attitude
Question
How can I help keep my high school son positive about baseball when all they
hear for the coach is negative?
Answer
Well, that really depends on how much your son loves the game. Some coaches often take very negative approaches to dealing with players and situations. If your son really loves the game of baseball, he will pretty much ignore all of this on his own and just try to get better. If he is struggling with the situation, all you can really do is encourage him every chance you get. Also, know when enough is enough. After an afternoon of hearing a coach raise hell at him, there will be times when the last thing he wants to talk about is baseball, as sometimes he'll just need to get away from it. That's really about all you can do in this situation. I hope this answered your question.
