Fair or foul?
Question
Batter hits pitched ball which lands in fair territory between home and first. The ball then crosses 3rd base, in the air, still in fair territory. The ball then touches the ground, past 3rd. in foul territory. What's the call?
Answer
Hey Bob,
The key here is, WHEN IT CROSSES OVER THIRD BASE IN THE AIR..
If the ball crosses over the base in the air, then yes, it indeed is a FAIR all. The umpire may not agree with you on whether it was fair or foul as it crossed the base. It is hard to tell sometimes.
Good Luck,
