Little League All Stars
Question
Some parents in a local Little League district have discussed naming the all star roster at the beginning of the season next spring and having them play on the same team all year. I believe the intent is to give the team a better chance to advance through the All Star tournament. Is this allowed by Little League rules?
Answer
Gregg,
According to Little League Tournament rules, Tournament teams may not be announced until June 15th of the given year. If your league announces early, they can be removed from the tournament by Little League International, and quite possibly have their charters revoked.
Announcing early is a MAJOR rule violation, and I suggest you let your board know it is in violation of the rules.
I hope this has helped. Should you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
