batting help
Question
alright with my batting stance i have my arms full extended but loose i stand far enough that i get to any corner of the plate with ease for inside pitch all i need to do is twist my hips like any inside pitch being hit and when its outside all i gotta do is fully extend my arms now in the positioning of my hands i often do both rotational and linear i mostly now start using the rotational type but i started with the linear.
but i really dont noe why i dont get a lot of hits cuz i got a good swing problem is i cant put the bat on the ball any suggestions
Answer
Chris,
Look at the picture on my profile to this web site. this is the proper hand positioning when starting. If you start with your hands extended you may have a long swing which creates more problems. No matter which way you hit you should make consistent contact. Focus on the basics, like your head and eyes, hips, and confidence. Because you are not making consistent contact you may be using your hands too much. Always trust your hands and let your body do the work. Your hands will always go to the baseball you just need you body (the rotation) to start them. Make sure you are seeing the ball. Do you track the ball with your head and eyes or just your eyes? You should be tracking the ball with your eyes trying to keep the head still. Your head doesn't move quick enough and if your head is down trying to see the ball at contact it will change your swing plane. The last is confidence. Start hitting the baseball the the opposite side. This will give you the most time to see the ball. Even when not in a slump you should always try to go to the opposite side with your hits.
