Baseball term?
Question
Is it a baseball term "to play for the tie at home and win on the road". Or does this saying have its roots in another sport?
Answer
Hi Bob,
sorry, I've not heard that one before. I did a quick 'wiki' search and found a reference to a 'two-legged tie, a soccer and rugby term used for two-game matches.
I'm not sure when I'd play for a tie - unless the outcome puts the team into a different play-off category or group.
