Cal Ripken vs Little League

Question
Can you tell me if there are differences between the rule Regulations that govern Cal Ripken vs Little League. I am wondering what would motivate a change from one to the other. I have found that such changes are usually motivated by self interest. I know that sounds a bit scenical.
I have heard that the rules surrounding coaching is different.. That a person who run's the league in your town cannot coach a team.. that Travel coaches' cannot coach the All Star team... that rules vary on how teams in the league are selected.. Do you have any incite into this or an you direct me to someone who can. Thank you for you time and consideration

Answer
Mark,

I can't answer you in specifics, only in generalities.  Typically at the lower levels of organized baseball, each league follows a defined rulebook, and then suppliments that with their own league rules.  Little League has an approved rulebook, but each individual league can suppliment however they want.  I'm not sure, but I suspect that Cal Ripken leagues also have an approved rulebook they follow.

I'm not familiar with coaching restrictions in the Little League rulebook.  But individual leagues may have their own rules on that matter.  In most cases, the rulebook covers the play of the game and the league rules cover logistics, game play, special rules etc.

I'd suggest going to the two leagues you are interested in and asking for their own rules.  You can then make a judgement about which league may be better for your situation.

Hope this helps!

Brian
