Draft
Question
We have a brother pick that was used as 10 year olds. One of the brothers went to travel ball last year. Now they want to use the brother pick as a twelve year old. Can this be done and after the twelve year olds are picked how does the draft proceed.
Answer
James,
Your question was a little confusing, but I will give an explanation on how brother options work.
If there are two brothers in the draft, and a manager decides to draft one of the two brothers, the second brother is 'protected' from being drafted by another team until one cycle of the draft. So you pick up brother #1 in the 3rd round, brother #2 is protected until your pick in the 4th round. That way you get the option of picking up the brother as well.
If there is a brother that is currently on a team, and his brother is in the draft, then that brother is protected to a certain round (dependant upon his age).
Both brothers must play in order to have a brother option.
I hope this has helped. Should you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask!
