Catchers equipment

Hi I am Kevin and i have been playing catcher for a few years now.  I am 13 and i wanted to try the helmet all the pros use the skull caps w/ a face mask as you probably know.  My question is i have no clue if i am allowed to use one.  I have looked at the league rules for Saddleback Valley Pony a few times and cannot find it what should i do?

I am sorry I cannot answer this question.  I have tried to get an answer for you during the past few days.  I have been trying to locate the rules for PONY baseball but you have to purchase the rule book, unless you are a PONY coach then you will have access to them.  I would recommend asking your coach about this.  Most leagues have made rules about the catchers masks.  Most leagues now require the use of the hockey style mask.  I like the traditional mask but the hockey style is lighter and offers more protection.  If you go back the the all experts web page you will find experts in the baseball instruction category that are umpires.  I have recommended Martin Hoover in the past with very good results.  He will most likely be able to give you an accurate answer.
