Determining the losing pitcher in a high school baseball game

QUESTION: Who is the losing pitcher from this game?
Pitcher A pitches innings one and two, complete. The oposing team scores 4 runs in the first inning, and 6 runs in the second inning. We score 2 runs in the first inning, 3 runs in the second inning. After 2 complete innings, score is 10 - 5, in their favor.
Pitcher B pitches innings 3 and 4, complete. Opponents score 1 run in the 3rd and no runs in the 4th. We score no runs in the 3rd and one run in the 4th. After 4 comlete innings, the score is 11 - 6, them.
Pitcher C starts pitching the 5th inning and they score 5 runs; Pitcher D comes in to finish the 5th inning and they score 4 runs. We do not score in the 5th inning.
Game over, they win 20 - 6.
Who is the losing pitcher?
ANSWER: Pitcher #1 is the loser.....

QUESTION: What should be done about a high school coach who published in the large area newspaper that pitcher B was the losing pitcher, just so the "superstar" of the team, who has tried out for a position on a junior college's baseball team, wouldn't get the loss and put a "scar" on Pitcher A's record...
