Bad Throwing Motion
Question
My son has always had a bad throwing motion. He reaches back but he stops near the ear and just flicks the ball with his wrist. He does not follow through. Most of his balls thrown are rainbows and he cannot throw very far. I have tried to fix it and let him follow through but he still has that little flick instead of a full follow through. Is there any drills that can fix this?
Answer
Melissa,
Any question regarding pitching I always refer to http://www.thecompletepitcher.com This web site is the most detailed and most complete of any pitching web site. They do a great job explaining all the drills and techniques with pictures. Pitching is a head subject for me to explain proper technique in words, I do a much better job with hitting. Please go to this web site and click on the articles tab. Here you will find all the topics that will cover any question. If you have any questions let me know.
Thank You,
