switching from coach pitch to kid pitch

My son is 8 years old and is playing on a league that is all kid pitch.  Up until then, he was a consistent hitter.  Now he swings at bad pitches and strikes out consistently.  It's completely frustrating and I don't know how to help him.  Any thoughts?

I think you must keep the point in mind that he is still 8.He will do all the things you said.I would approach it from the standpoint of not worrying about him getting a hit but not swinging at bad pitches.When my son was 6 and playing with the 9 year olds this is the approach I gave him.I let him know I didn't think he would get a hit but I didn't want him to swing at bad pitches.This benefited way down the road.He is now a very good leadoff hitter who doesn't swing at many bad pitches.He will relax more and start to get on base more with walks.May even start to hit the ball again.
