player rights?
Question
Our local little league is supposed to be made up of 5 teams, divided on the map, all in the same county and they play each other during the regular season. The team my son would've played on last year didn't have a coach so him and one other boy joined another team that was short of players. This year the local board is all but insisting my son has to go back to the team that didn't have a coach last year. What's happened is the minor league coach's son is moving up to little league so he's making up a team of 6 minor league caliper players and 3 little league so he can continue to coach his son. I don't think it's fair to make my son play on a team under those circumstances. Is there anything at all I can do?
Answer
Anna,
You can contact the league commissioner. If this is a town league it may be the park and rec department that you should contact with your concerns. Whom ever you contact make sure you voice your concerns to the highest level of authority for the league so you can get a definite answer. Unfortunately I don't believe there is a little league rule about this unless your town has added rules or amended current rules to allow this to happen.
Good luck and I hope this helps,
