Question
Runners at second and third two outs.runner on second takes off and is in a rundown. Runner on third takes off for home. Third baseman has the ball, what does he do?

thanks for the question.
if you have 2nd and 3rd and pick the guy off at 2nd (say the ss get ball from pitcher), run the runnder to 3rd. if the runner on 3rd breaks for the plate, the 2b would throw to catcher (who has crept up the base line towards 3b. now play the runner between 3rd and home. when handled properly, the 3b would not have the ball if you pick off the runner at 2b. just force the back runner to 3rd. if the runner on 3rd does not leave 3rd base and 2 men are on the bag, just tag the back runner (the runner from 2nd).
