Fiberglass brace on non-pitching arm
Question
My son broke the thumb on his non-pitching hand. The doctor placed a strip of fiberglass on his arm, and secured it with a (soft) ace bandage. If the arm is protected with a soft outter bandage, can he pitch in a Little League game?
Thanks.

Answer
Steve,
First, your son would need to have a release from his doctor saying he can fully participate in baseball without restriction.
That being said, rule 1.11 (k) answers your question:
"Casts may not be worn during the game by players and umpires."
I would consider this a cast and not allow your son participation until he was able to participate without the fiberglass cast.
I hope this has helped.
