hitting slump

I help coach a 12U travel baseball team that can't buy a hit.  We're a talented group of boys, but for what ever reason we're not hitting hard and when we do, it's right to the fielders.  I've suggested to our coaching staff we dedicate one entire practice to just hitting from live pitching.  
Any suggestions or practice tips to aid in this plight???

Great question, not sure how much help I can give not seeing or knowing the team though....

I was curious about your statement, "dedicate an entire practice"...That should be the bulk of your practice on hitting techniques, swinging, hip, rotation, proper arm & wrist action, etc. on a daily basis....Please consider revamping your priorities then.

Might wish to view some good YouTube videos on some tips & tricks that the kids would enjoy doing that make it more "fun" & they do not realize that they are learning better procedures on hitting....Keep it serious but light, 12 yr olds are fragile & in a huge transition period from experience...lol
