Question
Rick, my son plays on a team that is outside our school district, altho keep in mind he has and will continue to go to this school. He was chosen to play on the All-Star team. now with that said, is there a dead line on having a waiver signed from the school district allowing him to play for the team he is currently on? Thank you for your time
Answer
Christy: Thank you for your question.
If I understand your question correctly, your son is currently playing summer baseball for a team other than his current school team.
I cannot speak for other areas, but where I am in Arizona, a player can play for anyone during the summer, no school waiver is required. The governing body for Interscholastic sports does not restrict summer league play just to your current school.
It sounds like where you are located they may do so. The best source for that would be the State Association itself, or your local school athletic director.
Probably not much help on this.
